Elle and the boy who waited...

A lot of Elle's friends have had boyfriends since sixth or seventh grade. Not Elle. She's been far more interested in her sports and her academics and socializing with her girlfriends. There have been boys interested in her, but for some reason the fruit fell far from the tree and she was holding out for... something.

In December, Steven asked her out. Through her friends, she conveyed to him that she thought he was nice, but that she really felt like they needed to get to know each other better before she'd know if she was interested in him as a boyfriend. Amazingly, this teenage boy was not deterred and has spent the last two months gently pursuing her. And today, they became *official*

I asked her if they held hands at school. Yes. I asked if he kissed her. No. I said, "You know, he's gonna want to kiss you." She said she knew that, but that it wasn't an issue yet.

It's so cute. And fun. And I'm excited for her.

How fabulous it must feel to be 15. ::sigh:: Where do the years go???
