October 24, 2007~~10:49 p.m. Yesterday, while on the phone with a friend, I discovered that the clock in my car is seven minutes fast. This presented a huge issue for me because I have been living my life secure in the knowledge that the clock in my car is four minutes fast. The dilemma... what to do about this. I mean, it's been three minutes earlier than I've thought it was for who knows how long. And now I need to deal with the discrepancy somehow. I can either move the clock ahead three minutes, thus resuming my comfortable four-minute-cushion plan or learn to live at minus seven. The husband, of course, suggested just setting the clock to the RIGHT time, but that just seems silly. If I leave it off by seven minutes and live like it's off by only four, might it revolutionize my timeliness? Could those three minutes change my life? Yea, maybe for about the first week until I'm used to them being there and start automatically subtracting seven from the time the way I've been doing with the four for ages. Seriously, this is the most *me* problem I can imagine. It's overthinking at it's overthought best. I am so lame. |
